LMKR's four-member Assessment Team (Ghufran Amanullah, Lucy Monro, Allan Greenfield, and Jahanzeb M. Khan) made a two-day assessment trip to the villages to evaluate suitable locations, further assess the damaged buildings within the villages, and discuss building designs with residents. We are currently conducting material evaluation for construction. LMKR will commence its Reconstruction Phase in the first or second week of March.

LMKR will carry out the rebuilding process by setting up an initial base camp in Bagh for the storage of material and equipment. Moving ahead, a warehouse, a workshop and living quarters for the volunteers will be constructed for each of the two villages. A team of volunteers from Dubai with heavy duty equipment will soon be joining LMKR to participate in the rebuilding efforts within these villages. Our target will be to rebuild a single house within a three-day time period. At the same time, we aim to teach the owners of these houses to set up and maintain these houses themselves: the aim is, not only to build seismic houses, but to establish construction skills within the local communities.

Lucy Monro is a journalist- Editorial Director for LCM Publishing. She has been an active participant of LMKR's Earthquake Relief Efforts from the earliest. Throughout the relief, rehabilitation and rebuilding efforts, Lucy has provided LMKR with monetary, media and volunteer support which made it possible for these efforts to be worthwhile and successful.
