Puppet Show for Earthquake-Affected Children
1st December 2005
As part of its ongoing relief efforts for the Earthquake victims, LMKR is hosting a puppet show to entertain the children at its H-11 Relief Hospital. A lead artist and accompanying scriptwriters from LMKR along with 6 amateur artists from outside, who will also be performing in the show, are arranging the show. The approximately 45-minute puppet show will be based on the Sesame Street theme with a number of skits and a short story (translated in Urdu). The show will be repeated quite a few times to entertain a total of 4000 children being treated in the relief hospital.
The puppets, stage for the show, script writing and sound effects are all being managed and developed by LMKR employees in coordination with the team of amateur artists. Our drive for the organization of this puppet show is to bring smiles on the faces of the children who've been traumatized by the devastating earthquake. After the show has been conducted for the children in the hospital, LMKR plans to hold similar puppet shows for the school children of Bagh, Balakot and Muzaffarabad as well.
