Summary of Medical Treatment Activities in the 3rd week of January 2006

During this week 591 additional patients were registered at the LMKR Hospital. 473 of those patients were treated in OPD, 71 patients were admitted to our IPD and 21 patients were referred to tertiary care centers for further treatment. 26 new cases were also registered at the LMKR Rehabilitation Center.

This week two (2) cases of measles and five (5) cases of chickenpox were also reported at the LMKR Hospital. The concerned authorities were notified of these cases. Due to the alarming situation, vaccination has been initiated and is in progress at our immunization center, to prevent the further spread of these communicable diseases. Supplies of vaccinations and volunteer vaccinators are also needed to continue these services.
