Medical Treatment and Healthcare Activities at LMKR Hospital
9th January 2006
During the last week of December 2005, 385 patients were treated at the LMKR Relief Hospital in H-11, Islamabad. Among these 385 patients, 299 were treated in the out-patient department (OPD), 53 remain admitted with us in the In-Patient Department (IPD) and 33 referred to tertiary care centers in the city for further treatment.
Most of the patients were children mainly under 5 years of age suffering from Acute Respiratory Tract Infections (ARI) due to unfavorable weather conditions here at Islamabad. Those patients who had undergone orthopedic surgery are also visiting our Rehabilitation Centre for follow-ups.
A weekly meeting was held at Capital Development Authority (CDA) Relief camp, on Thursday, 29 th December 2005 and was attended by representatives from all the healthcare facilities in the camp. We discussed all the prevalent diseases in the camp and how we were planning on appropriately dealing with them. We received plenty of positive feedback from that session regarding our management of the LMKR Hospital.
Medical personnel and organizations highly appreciated the quality of medical and healthcare facilities delivered to the patients at the LMKR Hospital. Our maternal and child healthcare (MCHC) and establishment of Immunization and Rehabilitation centres have been greatly acknowledged by medical institutes and various doctors.
